Swanton Schools is one of many schools in the area asking voters for money. The Swanton School system is asking for a 4.45 Mill emergency levy. Itâ??s the same request that failed in March.
If the levy is approved it would bring in $825,000 to the district. The supporters of the levy say that in order to maintain the quality of education being provided to the students the levy needs to pass. Anne Cook levy committee chairperson says â??This school levy is critical to the ongoing future of our district.â??
Even if the voters approve the levy the district may still have to make budget cuts.
