Life’s Better Here: Jungle Junction (WNWO)

Kids can burn off some energy at Ohio’s largest indoor playground, Jungle Junction.

The towering structure has six levels of fun with over 60 activities to climb, crawl and tackle. Children can shoot air cannons, run through obstacle courses, hang out on the monkey bars, and get back to level ground by taking one of many slides. Adults can even get in on all the action with a free entry when accompanying a child.

The playscape was used at Sandusky’s Kalahari from 2005 through 2014 until they donated it to the city of Bellevue. The structure sat in storage while funds were raised to construct a building large enough to house the unit. Assembly was completed by a group of volunteers, taking five months to rebuild and using 1,700 zip ties to attach safety pads, but doors finally opened in May of this year.

The former shelter house that sat on the property was upgraded and attached to Jungle Junction and is in now used as their party room. The space can accommodate multiple parties and hold up to 15 kids per party or the entire room can be rented out.

On the property complex there are several outdoor spaces to take advantage of including a playground, picnic areas, a catch and release fishing pond and a Mil’Lympic pool. Baseball, softball and kickball fields are also available for rent.

Jungle Junction is open year-round and still accepting donations to help pay-off the construction and for future play additions.
