      1 shot at West Toledo apartment complex

      Toledo police dispatchers confirm one person has been hospitalized after a shooting at Westland Garden Apartments Wednesday morning.

      UPDATE: Toledo police have identified the man shot to death at an apartment complex in West Toledo early Wednesday.

      According to the report, 30-year-old Antonio Watson was found lying face down in the hallway of Westland Gardens apartment building around 6:40 a.m. The officers broke a window to gain entry and called for a life squad.

      Watson was taken a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

      One male was taken from the building in handcuffs this morning, but police say there are no suspects at this time.

      The shooting occurred around 7 a.m. at 1640 Westland Gardens Rd. A woman who lives at the complex told our reporter that she got a call saying her grandchild's stepfather was shot while putting the child on a bus to school. The grandchild got on the bus safely, according to the woman.

      Police at the scene have not confirmed any details of the shooting, but took one person from the building in handcuffs.
