A bakers dozen beagles are in desperate need of help in Ottawa County.
The Human Society of Ottawa County seized 13 dogs from a foreclosed home on January 23rd after complaints came from neighboring homes.
According to the Sandusky Register, the owners had moved out of the home and left the beagles behind.
Humane Officer Dennis Hammond tells the Sandusky Register that the owners did attempt to feed the dogs. However the living conditions of the foreclosed home were uninhabitable; the dogs were living in their own filth.
Now the Human Society of Ottawa County needs public assistance. The shelter set up to host only 11 dogs. Anyone interested in fostering or adopting the beagles, call 419-734-5191
