2 dead in Hancock Co. plane crash

They had been traveling in a small, Lancair airplane from Holland, Mich., to Bluffton, Ohio.

Officials are investigating a private plane crash in Hancock County, where two people have been confirmed dead.


The Hancock County Sheriff's Office said it happened early Sunday morning at 1:11 a.m. on County Road 18, between Township Road 215 and County Road 216, northeast of Findlay in Cass Township.


The occupants on the plane, a male pilot and a female passenger, were pronounced dead at the scene, according to authorities. Their identities have not been released as of this time.


They had been traveling in a small, Lancair airplane from Holland, Mich., to Bluffton, Ohio.


Officials continue to block off the intersection as officials investigate what caused the crash.
