$2 million in heroin seized in Lucas County traffic stop

An Illinois man faces felony drug charges after Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers seized five kilograms of heroin during a traffic stop Monday morning in Lucas County. The drugs are valued at $2 million.
32-year old Alejandro Murillo of Joliet, Illinois was charged with drug abuse and trafficking.
Troopers stopped a 1997 Ford Expedition with Pennsylvania registration for a speed violation on the Ohio Turnpike near Milepost 58 around 9:50 a.m. Monday. With the use of a patrol drug-sniffing dog, a probable cause search revealed five kilograms of heroin.
The suspect is being held in the Lucas County Jail. If convicted, Murillo could face up to 20 years in prison and a $20,000 fine.
