2nd suspect arrested in murder of Waterville businessman

Less than 24 hours after the arrest of one man in connection to a Waterville murder case, Lucas County Sheriff John Tharp says authorities have captured a second suspect for the homicide of James Safadi.

18-year-old James Y. Allen of Toledo was arrested Tuesday and charged with Aggravated Murder in Maumee Municipal Court.

On Monday, 32-year-old Ronald Rooker of Waterville was arrested and charged with the aggravated murder as well.

Rooker appeared before a judge for the first time on Tuesday and his bond was set at $5,000,000.

The victim, James Safadi, was shot and killed at his home on May 18th, 2013.

Initially police had said they were searching for three black male suspects that were wearing dark clothes and ski masks.
