The father of three boys who have been missing since Thanksgiving has appeared by video in a Michigan courtroom and was ordered held on $30 million bond.
Thirty-nine-year-old John Skelton appeared in Lenawee County District Court from the county's jail on Tuesday. Earlier Tuesday he was transported back to Michigan after waiving his right to an extradition hearing in Toledo, Ohio.
Skelton is charged with three counts of parental kidnapping in the disappearance of his sons. The boys were last seen playing in Skelton's backyard in Morenci, Mich., on Thanksgiving.
Police say Skelton tried to hang himself the next day and lied about giving the boys to a friend.
Skelton will be arraigned on Wednesday. He says he has no income and wants a court-appointed lawyer.
