30 people arrested during Toledo gang sweep

      The sweep resulted in 18 felony charges and 80 misdemeanor charges.

      A citywide crackdown on gang and gun violence resulted in 30 arrests Thursday.

      The Toledo Police Department along with authorities from Lucas, Wood, and Ottawa County Sheriff's Offices conducted a gang sweep throughout Toledo. Officials said these operations aim to take a proactive approach to fighting crime.

      During the sweep, authorities confiscated about $1,200 worth of drugs and cited 90 traffic violations. The sweep resulted in a total of 18 felony charges and 80 misdemeanor charges.

      A few weeks ago, about 41 arrests were made during a Sept. 28 operation. The operation resulted in six felony charges and 110 misdemeanor charges.
