Additional officers to patrol Toledo during Thanksgiving celebration

Officers assigned to the designated areas are paid overtime.

Toledo Police Department will have more of its officers out on the streets during Thanksgiving celebration.

Officials announced in a news release assigned officers will enforce all traffic violations, focus on speeding and those driving under the influence.

OVI sobriety checkpoints will be scheduled to get drunk drivers off the road.

The locations and dates will be chosen randomly at various locations around the city.

Grant funds from National Highway Traffic Safety Administration are supporting the enforcement effort.
