Another delay in cold case killing trial

A 42-year-old, unsolved slaying case in Toledo will be delayed for at least a few more weeks. The prosecutor in the case said they have located new physical evidence and need time to examine it.

Robert Bowman, 74, is accused of raping and killing 14-year-old Eileen Adams in 1967. Adams was missing for more than a month before her body was located, wrapped in a blanket, in a field in Monroe County.

Assistant County Prosecutor Christopher Anderson said that investigators had uncovered a semen stain on the skirt the girl was wearing when she was found. They need more time to run DNA and other tests on it before going to trial.

Common Pleas Court Judge Gene Zmuda has vacated the scheduled October 12 court date and will convene a pretrial hearing on October 8.
