Arrest made in horrific Sandusky triple murder

Heather Jackson and her two children, Celina and Wayne, were found dead inside their Sandusky home, Saturday, Sept. 8, 2012.

Police say they've made an arrest in connection with the apparent murders of a mother and her two young children in Sandusky.

On Saturday evening, the bodies of Heather Jackson, 23, her three-year-old daughter, Celina, and 18-month-old son, Wayne, were found inside the family's Sandusky home. Police made the gruesome discovery after family did not hear from the young mother and requested authorities visit the home. According to the Sandusky Register, once inside the one-story home on John St., police found Heather's body stuffed underneath a mattress. Her children's bodies were found inside a closet.

On Monday, police confirmed the arrest of Curtis Clinton, 41, of Sandusky. He was taken into custody on charges of aggravated murder in connection to triple murder. Police say Clinton was released from prison six months ago after serving 13 years for assault and involuntary manslaughter in Wood County. Jackson and Clinton were acquainted, according to authorities.

"It just seems like this town is getting worst by the minute," Jackson's neighbor Jennifer Ryerson told WNWO. "

I have two little ones (kids) the same age. I couldn't have imagined what happened here."

According to Sandusky Police, Jackson lived in the home with her two children for about one month. Friends and family say she had some issues, but was a good mother. "Her kids were her life, that was her big issue in life were her kids. They were first before anything," said one of Jackson's friends.

Jackson was estranged from her husband who lives in North Carolina, according to the Toledo Blade. The couple was in the process of a divorce.

Clinton was picked up by police at Bellevue Hospital where he was being treated for a medical issue unrelated to the weekend murders. He was arrested by Sandusky Police after several hours of questioning and is being held in the Erie County Jail.
