Hundreds of people took advantage of the nice weather Thursday night and spread out across Toledo to enjoy some art. It was all part of Art Walk, an event organized by the Arts Commission, a nonprofit group that supports the visual, literary and performing arts in northwest Ohio and southeast Michigan.
The event includes galleries, outdoor booths, guided tours, and events all across the city that allows artists to showcase and sell their work. The events were divided up between downtown and the Old West End.
â??I really think that the arts are an aspect of Toledo that are going to continue to grow more and more. And the more the public embraces it, the more the artists are going to be encouraged to pursue their art,â?? says Michelle Carlson, the programs coordinator for the Arts Commission.
The Art Walk is held on the fourth Thursday of the month from May to September. The next one is set for August 28.
