Bowling Green Police are investigating an attempted child abduction. It happened Monday about 4 p.m. within the city limits.
Police say a heavy-set woman with a buzzed haircut tried to grab the girl, but the kid managed to get away unharmed. Officials described her as a white female, possibly in her mid-thirties.
The victim was walking northbound on South Church Street near the intersection of Wooster Street when the suspect approached the victim. That's when the suspect stated, "Come, get in," with the front door opened.
NBC 24 has learned the woman was wearing a gray shirt and may have been driving an older, gray, four-door sedan -- possibly an Oldsmobile 88.
Officers say the investigation is ongoing.
