Attempted robber sentenced in death of accomplice

      Lamar Allen

One of two men involved in an attempted robbery at a North Toledo carryout was sentenced on Tuesday.

Joseph Hunter will spend the next 32 years in prison for the death of his alleged accomplice in the botched hold-up.

Hunter's partner in the crime, Lamar Allen, was shot to death by a clerk at the Express Carryout on Mulberry Street.

The two tried to rob the business in November.

While Hunter didn't pull the trigger a jury found him responsible for Allen's death because Allen wouldnâ??t have died if the pair had not been trying to rob the store.

The clerk that shot Allen, Bandar Abu-Karsh is also facing charges in the case.
