Officers will be out looking for impaired drivers Friday night as part of a spring enforcement effort.
The Lucas County Operating Vehicles Intoxicated (OVI) Task Force will conduct three sobriety checkpoints in the Reynolds Corner-area of Toledo.
The checkpoints will run from 8 p.m. Friday through 1 a.m. Saturday at the following locations: Reynolds Road near Central Avenue, Dorr Street at McCord Road, and in the 1200-block of S. Holland Sylvania Road.
Law enforcement is required to make the public aware of planned sobriety checkpoints in advance.
"It's required by law in the state of Ohio, and we also don't want to hide anything,?? according to Officer James Piotrowski of the Holland Police Department. ??We want people to essentially think twice, to be knowledgeable that we're out, we're going to be enforcing the laws...we're going to be looking for people that are impaired."
Friday's checkpoints will be manned by officers from the Lucas County OVI Task Force.
