Bedford Schools plan to make up calamity days

If the district should incur additional closings or delays, the last day will be adjusted accordingly.

Bedford Public Schools extended the last day of school to mid-June in response to make up for exceeded calamity days used this winter.


A news release sent Wednesday indicates schools officials decided Tuesday, June 17 as the last day for all students. Class of 2014 last day and graduation date will not change.


Legislation in Lansing has stalled to decide how districts should make up missed days due to inclement weather. School districts have resorted to follow the existing law, which means adding days to the school year.


If the district should incur additional closings or delays, the last day will be adjusted accordingly.

Half-days changed to full days for K-12 students:
Thursday, June 5: full day

Friday, June 6: full day


Scheduled makeup days for K-12 students:
Monday, June 9 â?? full day

Tuesday, June 10 â?? full day

Wednesday, June 11 â?? full day

Thursday, June 12 â?? full day

Friday, June 13 â?? full day

Monday, June 16 â?? full day

Tuesday, June 17 â?? half day




The last day for the 3rd marking period will be moved to Wednesday, April 9.
