Trick-or-treat in Toledo has been pushed back to Sunday at 6 p.m. "We met at 11 a.m. this morning with officials from other jurisdictions and we came to a collective decision based on the new weather forecasts that in the interest of safety we would move trick-or-treat to Sunday," said Shirley Green, Public Safety Director for the city of Toledo.
Mayor Mike Bell said politics did not play a factor in the decision. "No, I'm not worried about that," Mr. Bell said.
Bell's opponent, city councilman D. Michael Collins, said the mayor should have made the decision he made today earlier in the week. "I think he has handled it very poorly; I mean the decision was pretty simple based on the information provided by the National Weather Service," Mr. Collins said.
Trick-or-treat in Toledo is now scheduled for Sunday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
