Bowling Green police may have halted the activity of a ring of thieves when they arrested three men and a juvenile early Monday morning.
Police say that at 4:45 a.m. Tuesday, a unit assigned to directed patrol in the area of Campbell Hill apartments observed two suspcious vehicles. They then observed a man in the parking lot looking in windows of cars with a flashlight and checking door handles.
Police approached the subject an arrested Michael D. Jude, 19, of Hamilton St. in Toledo. Also arrested with Jude were Wesley Jude, 17 of Hamilton St., Toledo, Nicholas Hobbs of Harlan Road, Toledo, and Rian Manning, 19, of Oakwood AVe., Toledo. Police learned that Manning had an active warrant for burglary originating from the Toledo Police Department.
Detectives were summoned to the scene and were able to find evidence linking the suspects to several burglaries. Stolen property was recovered from a house in Toledo as well as a car that was stolen December 31 from Enclave Apartments in Bowling Green.
The three adults were booked into the Wood County Justice Center charged with burglary. The younger Jude was booked into JDC and charged with complicity to attempted burglary.
Bowling Green police expect to file additional charges related to 12 separate burglaries and four stolen cars.
The case remains under investigation.
