Late Tuesday, Bowling Green Police issued an alert to Nixle subscribers urging them to 'stay in and secure doors' as authorities searched for a burglary suspect.

The warning was sent just after 11:30 pm and advised that officials were actively pursuing the suspect in the area of Sand Ridge Road and Wintergarden Road.

Police said the burglary suspect "fled from scene in the 1400 block of Sand Ridge Rd at approximately 9:50 PM."

BGPD and Ohio Highway Patrol then secured a perimeter around corn field in the vicinity of Sand Ridge and Wintergarden as well as Stone Ridge Golf Course.

An Ohio State Patrol helicopter was also called into assist in the search.

Dispatchers say the suspect is a white male, about 5'9" tall, is in his 30's, looks clean cut, is balding and was last seen with a black backpack.

They also believe the burglar may be wearing a tan shirt and dark pants.

A 911 dispatcher said that this was the same suspect tied to a robbery earlier in the day.

It's not clear, however, if the dispatcher was referring to a robbery at an apartment along North Enterprise on Tuesday.

If you have any information on either robbery or the location of the suspect you should call Bowling Green Police at 419-352-1131.
