For the second day in a row, two of the area's major universities will be less than busy due to severe winter weather.
The University of Toledo has cancelled classes and Bowling Green State University will remain closed Tuesday. Both schools were also off on Monday as Lucas and Wood counties were both under a Level 3 snow emergency.
Lucas County has lifted its Level 3 snow emergency and dropped to a Level 2; however, icy road conditions and an advisory for dangerously low temperatures were enough to keep students away from classes for a second day.
Wood County remains under a Level 3 snow emergency as of 2:45 p.m. Monday. BGSU said their campus will remain closed until 10:30 p.m. Tuesday. Classes resume after winter break on Monday, January 13.
UT's campus will remain open depsite the cancellation of classes. Essential workers are to report to work. The University of Toledo Medical Center will remain open as always.
