Big discount on pitt bull spaying and neutering

Daisy Mae is up for adoption through Planned Pethood of Northwest Ohio.

Between 4 to 6 million adoptable animals are euthanized nationwide every year.

In an effort to reverse the trend, the Lucas County Dog Warden and Humane Ohio are teaming up to offer a special deal on spaying and neutering.

The Fix-a-Bull promotion allows Lucas County pit bull owners the chance to get their dog fixed for $5.

Jill Borkowski from Human Ohio stopped by WNWO Today and said the promotion is to help with the pit bull overpopulation problem.

"Pit Bulls are one of the most common breeds in shelters, and therefore one of the most euthanized,"Humane Ohio Medical Director Kelly Rada said.

If you're looking to take full advantage of the deal, your animal must live in Lucas County and owners must possess a current dog license to qualify. You must also mention Fix-a-Bull or Primp Your Pit promotion.

The deal will last until 500 dogs have been fixed and also includes microchipping.

Meanwhile, if you're not a Lucas County resident, Humane Ohio is also fixing pit bulls and pit mixes for $20 during the month of August for Ohio or Michigan dog owners, with or without a license.
