Engines roared on Saturday as motorcyclists rode to honor a fallen officer of the Toledo Police Department.
Over 150 bikers rode out of the Oscar Bunch Powertrain Park for the 7th annual Detective Keith Dressel Memorial Ride. Detective Dressel died on February 21, 2007 after suffering a gunshot wound while on duty in North Toledo. Dressel was an honored member of the Toledo Police Department for 14 years as a patrol officer and detective in the TPD Vice/Narcotics Section Special Enforcement Division.
"The people have come out every year for this, and we've had other fund-raisers that they've showed up for," said Frank Stiles, who worked with Dressel during part of his 25 years of service with TPD. "It's just nice to see them come to the memorials and be part of them."
All money raised will go to the Officer William Miscannon Scholarship Fund at Owens Community College in memory of Detective Dressel.
