A new dirt ramp bike park and a seven mile mountain bike trail, officially opened today at Jermain Park, in Toledo.
All of the dirt was donated by a city contractor. The ramps were structured and maintained by volunteers.
Denny Garvin, Commissioner of Parks, Recreation and Forestry for the city of Toledo, commented about the new additions to the park. Garvin said, "so now Jermain Park is like a recreational mecca."
Garvin mentioned that various volunteers and bicycle groups gave a lot of input into the park. "This type of public involvement is what the city of Toledo is all about. Anything where people can tell us and advise on what they want for their recreational needs and public lands, we are going to get behind it and do everything we can to make it work."
The park is free and open to the public. A helmet must be worn at all times while riding in the park and trails.
