Boat capsizes in Lake Erie near Cedar Point, 1 dead and 1 missing

A woman has been found dead in a boat found capsized in Lake Erie near Cedar Point, and a man who was with her is missing.

The U.S. Coast Guard says authorities were notified about the 36-foot vessel Sunday afternoon after someone at Cedar Point park in Sandusky noticed it capsized on a breakwall.

A Coast Guard statement says state authorities found the body of Pam Holstein inside the boat after it was brought ashore.

A search for 58-year-old Charles Kaplan of the Cleveland suburb of Solon was called off early Monday after about 12 hours. The Coast Guard says a more than 120 square-mile area was covered by boat and by air. The search could resume if authorities receive credible information that Kaplan might have survived.
