The need for rain is starting to affect boaters and yacht owners on the Ottawa River.
The drought conditions are also wreaking havoc on marinas and yacht clubs along the river. The levels are low, making it hard for some boats to leave marinas on certain days. It's also making it difficult for boaters to enjoy their vessels because they worry about what may happen when they shove off.
"People are worried about getting the propeller stuck," said Bill Tabbert, owner of Lost Peninsula Marina.
Some days there is only 2 to 3 feet of water in the marinas at Point Place.
The low water levels are not constant and with the lack of rain, fluctuate often.
