A Flint woman told media outlets Tuesday that her missing granddaughter's body was found in a ditch near Detroit, matching the description of a body found in Monroe County on Monday night.
According to WNWO's sister station, WEYI, the grandmother of Tanisha Colton, who went missing on March 13, said her body had been found in a ditch. While Michigan State Police have not confirmed the victim's identity, they did say the description matches Colton.
Authorities told WEYI that a person of interest was in custody as of Tuesday morning.
Troopers said the body was discovered by a motorist traveling on Newberg Road east of Annabell Road around 5:30 p.m.
