Authorities look on as crews put the body into a vehicle to be transported from the scene.

Toledo police have released the identity of the man found dead in the Maumee River late Wednesday night.

The body of 59-year-old Robert Brennan of Findlay was recovered by a water rescue crew just before 8 p.m. According to police, an employee at the Grand Plaza Hotel reported seeing the body floating in the water.

The Lucas County coroner is conducting an autopsy Thursday to determine the official cause of death. The investigation is ongoing, but police are not ruling out the possibility that the man's death was accidental.
