The body of a female driver has been recovered Sunday morning from Otter Creek in Oregon following an apparent crash.
Oregon Police were notified around 10 a.m. Officers say it appears the driver went through a flashing red light at the intersection of Ottawa Creek Road and Millard Avenue. The vehicle smashed through a guardrail and overturned in a swampy area of the Creek.
The vehicle was submerged in water and partially covered in ice. Police say this may indicate the vehicle had been in the water since early this morning.
A group of scuba divers from Jerusalem Township water rescue searched the creek for any additional victims. No other victims were found. The vehicle was towed out of the creek.
Police say the driver may have fallen asleep but the crash remains under investigation.
The victim's name is being withheld pending notification of family members. Officials told WNWO the vehicle did have Ohio plates.
