Hundreds of students gathered outside the BGSU Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity house Tuesday night to mourn a student found dead that afternoon, BG News reports.
A 911 call came around 4:30 p.m. to report a non-responsive student at the fraternity house. Joseph Monroe, a sophomore and member of Pi Kappa Alpha, was discovered deceased at the scene.
The cause of death was not released while police continue to investigate.
"We want people to give themselves space to talk about their emotions and help them move forward," said Garrett Gilmer, associate director of the campus counseling center. "We want to make sure students take care of themselves and get the help they need through this difficult time."
The Counseling Center is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and can be reached at 419-372-2081.
