Be on the lookout for more patrols and increased vigilance through the New Year as the city of Toledo conducts a traffic enforcement blitz to finish out the year.
The Toledo Police Department says officers will be assigned to school zones, construction zones, and areas known to have traffic crashes.
The blitz, which is being made possible through funding from a grant from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, will begin on Dec. 5. TPD says officers will be paid overtime to work the blitz and are in addition to regularly scheduled patrols.
The city-wide traffic enforcement blitz will run through Jan. 2, 2013 and will continue as traffic enforcement specials through Sept.
