Bus driver cited after TPS student struck

A Toledo Public School student is recovering after being hit by a school bus. The accident happened just after 8:00 a.m. Thursday at an intersection near Woodward High School.

The high school student was crossing the intersection of Lagrange Street and Central Avenue when he was struck by the bus.

There are reports the bus was traveling through a green light.

TPS spokesperson Patty Mazur says the unidentified student was transported to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center with minor injuries.

Toledo Police say the driver of the bus has been cited for failure to yield to a pedestrian. The bus driver was not hurt.

Mazur says the school will conduct an internal investigation to determine if the driver will face any disciplinary action.
