Calvary Church at the former Maumee 18 Cinema on Conant Street, is officially open.
Calvary held a grand opening ceremony today with services at 8:30 a.m., 10 a.m., and 11:30 a.m. Lead Pastor, Chad Gilligan, said, "it is fun today to see people coming in to celebrate and know there are really exciting things ahead."
The property was purchased in December of 2010. The planning and architecture work took a little over two years and is now 20,000 square feet larger than the former church.
Inside the bigger church, there is a place for new possibilities. "The space where we worship, the auditorium, gives us a chance to use a lot of technology with video, sound and lighting that we did not have at our former facility," Gilligan mentioned.
Sunday night services take place at 8:30 a.m., 10 a.m., and 11:30 a.m. Wednesday night services begin at 7 p.m.
