Changes coming to downtown Toledo parking meters
TOLEDO, Ohio (WNWO) - Free downtown parking could soon be coming to an end. There are about 940 meters downtown, 873 of those allow free parking between 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.
The mayor’s office is holding a meeting to propose a new plan. That plan would eliminate free parking, and would take funds raised at the meters to develop downtown.
“Parks, streets, bike lanes, flowers, beautification, clean up,” said Gretchen DeBacker, Legislative Director with the City of Toledo. “All of those kinds of things to improve the downtown, those programs will benefit from this change."
The meeting will be Wednesday, June 27th at the main library starting at 5:00 p.m. The public is encouraged to attend.
