The Ohio State Highway Patrol announced today that an OVI checkpoint will be held from 10 p.m. Friday until 1 a.m. on Perry Street in Port Clinton.
The checkpoint, funded by federal grant funds, is planned to deter and intercept impaired drivers, according to the highway patrol release.
The checkpoint will be held in conjunction with Ottawa County Sheriff's Department, the Port Clinton Police Department and nearby saturation patrols to aggressively combat alcohol-related injury and fatal crashes.
