Cherry Street Mission in urgent need of Thanksgiving food donations

Thu, 21 Nov 2013 19:04:33 GMT — Cherry Street Mission Ministries needs donations to prepare Thanksgiving dinner boxes for families in need.It plans to deliver more than 700 Thanksgiving food boxes to those in need in the Northwest Ohio community. Each food box feeds about a family of six people. â??An empty table on Thanksgiving is a harsh but true reality for hundreds of families in our region,â?? says Dan Rogers, President and CEO. â??While nearly 1 in 6 families face food insecurities every day, we would hope that Thanksgiving is not one of those days.â?? The amount of donations has fallen short. Hundreds of items are needed including mashed potatoes, Mac & Cheese, cranberry sauce, frosting, stuffing, yams, chicken broth, green beans.The items are needed by Monday, Nov. 25.Cherry Street relies on private donations, depending on the support of the community to fill the 700 food boxes.
