Child porn raid on Walbridge mobile home

Walbridge, OH - On order from Ohio Attorney General Mike Dewine, a Walbridge mobile home, and three other homes across Ohio were raided Tuesday morning by the Bureau of Criminal Investigation.

The mobile home park at 27695 Tracy Rd. lot 483 was under investigation for at least three months.

"Based on the information that was obtained during the investigation, [it] led agents to believe their was evidence of child pornography at this particular location," says BCI Agent in Charge Savalas Kidd.

Due to their findings during the search, authorities say charges will now be filed. They say there may be more photographs and videos on the suspects computer, which was taken as evidence.

Neighbors say they are shocked to hear the news.

"A lot of things go on out here, but we've never seen child porn out here," says Dave, who lives just across the street.

He says the suspect has only lived there for about a year, and he has only spoken to him once.

"The man kept to himself and he really didn't bother anybody... except for his loud music every once in a while," he says.

The man was not taken into custody pending formal charges, which authorities say should be filed within a few days.

Authorities say there will be an ongoing dragnet for these types of crime.

"The attorney general has made it his high priority to pursue individuals that harm children," says Agent Kidd.

They say crimes like this happen far too often in Ohio and throughout the country, and the investigation process can be tedious. However they will continue to investigate, and catch offenders.

"Hopefully we can reduce, and solve these type of crimes," says Kidd.

He says even if offenders do not have a violent or abuse history for these crimes, they always pose a subtle and immediate threat.
