Childhood obesity fought with fun science

Imagination Stationâ??s newest highly interactive exercise and nutrition exhibit to open to the public this spring.
Today the science center announced itâ??s partnership with ProMedica with its newest upcoming experience, Eat It Up; slated to open to the public April 6th.
The exhibit aims to tackle the issue of Childhood Obesity. According to the Imagination Station, Ohio has the 12th highest rate of childhood obesity in the nation.
â??We have worked to share messages with kids and families about the importance of eating well and exercising to stay healthyâ?? said Randy Oostra, President and CEO of ProMedica. â??I know this exhibit with its fun, interactive components is a great way to continue sharing that message.â??
Eat It Up! is a 2,000 square foot display area, featuring 7 major interactive exhibits. The Wheel of Fire display, pictured above, is a life-size 8 feet tall rotary treadmill or giant hamster wheel that shoots flames up to 10 feet!
