An icy roadway is believed to be the cause of a fatal accident in Sylvania Township last night.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating the two- vehicle crash that occurred shortley before 11 PM on Centennial Road just north of Central Avenue.
According to OHP, Ronda Jerrell of Sylvania was traveling northbound on Centennial when she lost control of her vehicle on the icy roadway. The vehicle went into the southbound lane and stuck another vehicle driven by Ryan Hogan also of Sylvania.
Jerrel was transported to Flower Hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries. Her passenger was also transported to the hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
Hogan was transported to Flower Hospital for minor injuries. His passenger was transported to Flower Hospital for moderate injuries.
The crash remains under investigation and alcohol is not believed to be a factor.
