City brings in thousands at TPD vehicle auction

The Toledo Police Department made more than $130,000 over the weekend in its first vehicle auction of 2010.
More than 100 abandoned and forfeited vehicles were auctioned off in North Toledo. The police impound lot displayed the vehicles up for grabs and included trucks and motorcycles. Around 500 people were on-hand at the vehicle auction.
Officials say nearly $100,000 of the weekend earning's will be put into the city's general fund. The remaining money will be added to the city's law enforcement trust fund.
