City of Port Clinton, Ohio declares State of Emergency for city
PORT CLINTON, Ohio (WNWO) —
Mayor Hugh Wheeler, Jr. has declared a state of emergency due to recent weather condition.
In a news release today, the mayor issued the proclamation due to city wide flooding.
Citizens are asked to exercise caution and to limit travel if able.
Please be mindful of barricades through the city.
The police and city crews have placed barricades throughout the city.
The large amount of rain fall along with record lake levels have made it difficult for waters to recede.
All pumps have been operational and working to maximum capacity.
The City is working with the Ottawa County Emergency Management Agency and the Ottawa County Commissioners to move forward with restoration of services to the city.
