Classic car show to benefit Wreaths Across America

A prize-winning car

Lots of classic cars were on display today, Sunday, August 18, for the first ever classic car show at the Toledo Memorial Park in Sylvania.

Over 100 classic cars were on show to raise funds for Wreaths Across America, a nonprofit organization that pays to put wreaths on the graves of soldiers at Arlington National Cemetery.

"We are hoping to make this an annual event," said Jeff Clegg, the President/CEO of Toledo Memorial Park. "This being our first year, we did not really know what to expect. We were hoping to raise a couple of thousand dollars. I think we are going to do well over that."

Mel Harbaugh, the Wreaths Across America organizer, has hopes for next year. "Next year we would like to add motorcycles."

A part of todayâ??s car show included prizes being handed out to the top three entries in the event.
