College students help seize nearly $250,000 in pot bust

The Seneca County Drug Task Force-METRICH Enforcement Unit conducted their bi-annual "State Marijuana Eradication" program this week.
The multi-jurisdictional operation ended with the seizure of 229 plants, collected from throughout Seneca County.
The "product" seized has an estimated street value of approximately $229,000.00.
â??Todayâ??s efforts were just a small example of our accomplishments with working together with all the local & state law enforcement agencies to combat against drugs in our communitiesâ?? Seneca County Sheriff William Eckelberry said.
â??This was also a great opportunity for our internship program. Interns from Tiffin University and Heidelberg University also participated in this yearâ??s Eradication Program. It gives them a chance to experience the proactive side of law enforcement and a sense of accomplishment you get from helping your community," Seneca Co. Sheriffâ??s Office Lead investigator Sgt. Donald Joseph said.
