Demolition work has begun on the shuttered Woodville Mall in Northwood after it closed in December 2011.
Last year, a Wood County Judge ordered the mall to be demolished. Northwood City Administrator Bob Anderson said the mall had a good run. "I'm from West Toledo and I remember coming here when I was younger and it was a really good thing in its time," said Mr. Anderson.
Demolition began two weeks ago and is expected to be completed in the summer.
"We would like to see some more commercial development, water gas, everything is all hooked up," Mr. Anderson said.
Anderson said the infrastructure remains in place that would make the site suitable for commercial development.
