Concealed carry licenses reach record high
Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine released the 2011 fourth quarter record setting numbers for concealed handgun licenses issued in the state.
Ohio sheriffs issued almost 12,000 licenses. This means that more than five people per hour received a new or renewed license from an Ohio sheriff.
By the end of 2011, almost 250,000 Ohioans had permits to carry concealed handguns. That number is expected to approach 300,000 by the end of this year.
