Cooper Tire, union to meet with federal negotiator

Cooper Tire and union negotiators plan to meet with a federal negotiator next Monday.

Cooper Tire officials have agreed to sit down with union negotiators after a month of uncertainty.

Published reports say the meeting is set for next Monday in Findlay. A federal mediator is expected to sit in with the group.

Last Thursday, a union at a Cooper plant in Arkansas ratified a new four-year contract, which some see as a positive sign for Findlay workers.

More than 1,000 Findlay Cooper Tire workers have been locked out since late November.
