A Toledo teen is behind bars after taking police on a stolen vehicle chase from Toledo to Monroe, Mich. early Thursday.
According to the Monroe County Sheriff's Office, Toledo police began pursuing the stolen vehicle northbound on Detroit Avenue just after 2 a.m. Once the vehicle crossed the state line, Monroe County deputies picked up the chase on Telegraph Road near Minx and attempted a traffic stop. The suspect vehicle, a red Ford Explorer occupied by four people, refused to stop.
The 18-year-old driver attempted to drive through a city park, but was blocked by fencing. The vehicle stopped and all four occupants were taken into custody.
The driver was booked in the Monroe County jail on felony charges of possession of stolen property and fleeing and eluding.
