Crash kills 2 Seneca County teen brothers

The Bollinger brothers, 17 and 15 years old died at the scene of the crash.

The Fremont Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a two vehicle crash that killed two teen brothers on Thursday afternoon.

The crash happened along Township Road 79 at the intersection of Township Road 8, southeast of the Village of Republic, in Reed Township.

Authorities say around 2:30 p.m., 17-year-old Phillip L. Bollinger failed to yield at a stop sign at the intersection and was hit by an SUV traveling east.

After going off the roadway, Bollinger's 2000 Chevrolet Cavalier then hit a tree.

Both Bollinger and his passenger, 15-year-old Dillon Bollinger died at the scene.

The driver of the other vehicle, 47-year-old William Bartley, and his three passengers suffered only non-life threatening injuries.

Officials say that seat belts were in use by everyone involved in the crash and believe that alcohol did not play a factor in the crash.
