Crash kills Mich. golf team coach, student

A student athlete and golf coach were among 3 killed in a crash in Kalkaska County.

An 18-year-old student athlete and coach were among three killed in a collision involving a van carrying a Michigan high school golf team Monday night.

According to WNWO sister station WPBN, Grayling High School student golfer Louis Menard, 28-year-old golf coach Jason Potter and 27-year-old Cassandra Stapleton, a passenger in the other vehicle, died in the crash. Six others were taken to the hospital, two of whom are listed in critical condition, according to the Associated Press.

Authorities told WPBN that the van carrying the golf team crashed at a two-way stop with another van carrying three occupants.

Speed is believed to be a factor for both cars.
