CrossFit murder suspect awaits extradition from Houston

Deitrekk Boone, 20, has been on the run for more than a year.

The final suspect wanted for the 2012 murder of a CrossFit gym owner in south Toledo is expected to return to Toledo.

Deitrekk Boone, 20, has been on the run for more than a year, but was found Wednesday in Houston, more than hundreds of miles away from Toledo.

Boone faces aggravated murder charges for the fatal shooting of 57-year-old Joseph Lengel at the CrossFit gym on Warehouse Road.

Man shot, killed outside South Toledo gym

TPD spokes person, Sgt. Joe Heffernan, said Houston Police officers arrested Boone outside a Golden Coral Restaurant. He was suspected of dealing drugs near a library a few days earlier.

Boone's lack of official identification made it difficult to trace Boone back to Toledo, according to police.

Officials scanned his fingerprints and learned he was wanted for a murder charge in Toledo.

Boone is expected to return to Lucas County Sheriff's Office some time next week.

Five people were charged in the murder of the gym owner and sentenced to prison time.
